Geschiedenis Philips Hue

Koninklijke Philips ie een Nederlands elektronicaconcern die opgericht is in 1891 door Gerard Philips samen met zijn vader Frederiks Philips. Philips was een van de grootste gloeilampenfabrikant ter wereld. Daarnaast werden ook andere dingen geproduceerd zoals spaarlampen, tl-buizen en later werd hier ook ledverlichting aan toegevoegd. In oktober 2012 werd de eerste generatie Philips Hue modellen gemaakt. Deze Philips Hue LED lampen worden ontwikkeld en gemaakt door Signify N.V. . Dit bedrijf is de voormalige Philips Lightning Division die onderdeel was van Koninklijke Philips N.V. . Deze divisie van Philips: Philips Lightning is in 2016 naar de beurs gegaan. Philips Lightning is wereldwijd marketleider op het gebied van LED verlichting.

Philips Hue

Het Philips Hue systeem werd in 2012 op de markt als eerste IOS gestuurde verlichtingsapparaat. Het maakt gebruik van het Zigbee verlichtingsprotocol en kan onder andere bediend worden via je smartphone. Het nieuwste systeem is ook compatibel met de Apple Homekit.
